Course introduction

This two-day training course provides a clear overview of the 1D modelling techniques available within Flood Modeller. It will allow you to familiarise yourself with the various tools and features available within the software, allowing you to build and run your own model.

By the end of this course, you will understand the capabilities of Flood Modeller and when to apply it two different types of application. The course will provide an overview of the key features, streamlined workflows and user-friendly interface within the software.

On completion of the training, you will be able to build, run and review you own 1D model and generate data in multiple formats (e.g. maps and animations).

Typical course structure

The following modules will be delivered throughout the course.

  • An overview of Flood Modeller
  • Components of a Flood Modeller project
  • How to build and run 1D flood models
  • Using model results to share outputs
  • Undertaking unsteady simulations
  • How to incorporate river structures
  • 1D floodplain modelling
