On the 28th January, we kickstarted the year by heading up to Edinburgh for Verture’s (previously Sniffer) national Flood Resilience conference, the leading event in the Scottish flooding community calendar. The two-day conference attracted nearly 600 delegates, with this year’s theme being ‘Taking Actions to Implement the Flood Resilience Strategy’.

Alastair Sheppard, Marketing and Sales Director for Flood Products at Jacobs, was exhibiting on behalf of Flood Modeller and Flood Platform, armed with plenty of freebies and a chance to network and hold meaningful discussions with visitors and exhibitors alike.

This year’s conference was designed to build on Scotland’s first National Flood Resilience Strategy which was published by Scottish Government in December 2024.

“We always enjoy attending fantastic events like this, where impactful topics are discussed, and we feel our products can make a positive difference. It was a great opportunity to discuss how Flood Modeller drives the hydraulic analysis for Scotland’s national flood forecasting system. Additionally, we showcased how new tools, including Flood Platform, can enhance stakeholder collaboration and promote effective community engagement” said Alastair.

“There was an excellent range of breakout sessions and informal training opportunities on tools for increasing flood resilience across the two-days, with speakers from the likes of SEPA, Scottish Canals, Network Rail Scotland and Scottish Water” continued Alastair.

Join us at our annual conference in October to discover how Flood Modeller and Flood Platform can revolutionise your hydrological and hydraulic analysis, and enhance your model management and collaboration.
