We are thrilled to announce the release of Flood Modeller 6, the latest update to our industry-leading river, surface water, and urban drainage modelling software. This new version introduces a simplified licensing structure, providing users with everything they need in one comprehensive package, delivering even better value.

Everything You Need In One Comprehensive Package

“With Flood Modeller 6, we are providing our users with a more powerful, flexible, and user-friendly tool that will transform the way they approach modelling,” said Dr. Richard Crowder, Director of Flood Modeller. “This latest version is a testament to our commitment to innovation and excellence in flood risk management.”

Flood Modeller 6 offers a host of new features and enhancements designed to elevate the user experience and improve modelling efficiency:

Unified Access Across Editions:

All users now benefit from access to Flood Modeller’s urban solver, water quality and sediment transport add-ons, and unlimited viewing capabilities. The robust 2D solvers are included at no extra cost, with the GPU solver available in the Professional and Unlimited editions.

Enhanced 2D Modelling:

The software now supports up to 300% more 2D cells in its Lite, Standard, and Professional editions, enabling the modelling of larger, more detailed catchments that can run in minutes instead of days.

New Logical Rule Options:

Enhanced logical control rules now incorporate ALSO and ELSE functions, allowing for better representation of complex operational scenarios in open channel modelling.

Z-Mod Tool:

This new tool improves model stability and accuracy by adjusting 2D topography with spatially varying elevations, ideal for representing proposed developments or defences.

Advanced 2D Plotting Tools:

Rebuilt results plotting tools provide insights from 2D results and generate report-ready charts, with the ability to compare results from multiple simulations within a single chart.

2D Flood Map Generator Tool:

with a wide range of input data, this tool allows for the processing of multiple results at once without the need for file conversion.

Flood Modeller 6 also includes hundreds of other enhancements, new features, and bug fixes aimed at delivering workflow efficiencies. For a detailed overview of what's new in version 6, users can view the release notes.
