Thank you for your feedback!

A few months ago, we asked you for some feedback about Flood Modeller, and we were delighted by the significant response from across the globe. We want to thank everyone who has taken the time to get back to us.

Your feedback mainly focused around three key themes: productivity, speed and automation. Recurring features that stood out in the survey included integrated drainage modelling capabilities, the ability to load large datasets more quickly, additional workflows and automated tools, improved diagnostics and new analysis methods.

Reading your comments, we were pleased to see that our proposed development plan was already very much aligned to your requirements. Flood Modeller version 5.0 will begin to deliver many of the features you requested and more. In addition to this, our development roadmap has been redefined to enable us to incorporate more of the features you suggested within future releases of the software.

"The feedback we received from customers globally reassured us that many of the new features proposed as part of our development roadmap meet the requirements they expect from an industry-standard flood modelling software. It is very encouraging to see that our users are happy to participate in further discussion and help steer the future development of the software". Bob Potter, Development Manager - Flood Modeller, Jacobs

What's new in Flood Modeller 5.0

Improve your understanding of flood risk

The new 1D urban solver will enable you to quickly and efficiently undertake fully integrated catchment modelling by combining surface and sub-surface flow in a single model. Flood Modeller offers various solvers, which can be linked together, for all your needs: 1D urban for drainage and pipe networks, 1D river for water levels and 2D solvers for surface water flows. By simply loading an existing 1D urban model into Flood Modeller, you will save time importing and converting your data. It also provides a cost-effective solution as you no longer need to rely on third-party software.

Significant further enhancements to the 1D urban solver will feature in future releases of the software.

Accelerate your model development

Quickly and easily manage large 2D result sets. Flood Modeller’s user-friendly interface allows you to build, run and visualise your models up to 10 times faster.

Enhance your modelling experience

The new 2D modelling capabilities enable you to embed 1D structures directly within your 2D domain, simplifying your model build. If you need to model flow through a culvert, orifice or weir, and don't require a full 1D river network, the new automation wizard will automatically add these units to your 2D domain.

Accurately represent levee behaviour in 1D cross sections within Flood Modeller and calculate different levels across 1D sections between left bank, right bank and main channel.

Easily solve your modelling problems

With improved error messaging, more diagnostic and more guidance and documentation, you can now solve your modelling problems independently and more efficiently. Our online resources and dedicated support team are still available to help you with your modelling questions.

You will also benefit from over 30 other product enhancements which aim at delivering workflow efficiencies, including the ability to include ZZX (supplementary data) in time series charts.
