Key facts

  • Efficient way to gather, organise and validate complex model results.

  • Reduces the likelihood of user error as well as saving time.

  • Up to 100 times faster than completing the steps manually.

  • Long section’ mode extracts maximum water levels.

  • Time series’ mode extracts hydrographs at selected nodes.

  • Extract and analyse different combinations of output variables.

  • Calculate peak values for each variable or total volumes in your entire network.

The Results Extractor tool is an advanced automation tool specifically developed for collating and presenting 1D model results. It provides an efficient way to gather, organise and validate complex model results and reduces the likelihood of user error as well as saving time. Users are then able to turn their 1D results into 2D flood extents using built-in post-processing tools.

Extract model results across different return periods, storm durations and model runs more efficiently than ever before! Checks are carried out to ensure that the results are valid which are then pre-formatted for report tables with additional data drawn from the model.

The Results Extractor tool has proven to be up to 100 times faster than completing the same steps manually. It can work across a large set of simulations and has two basic modes. ‘Long section’ mode extracts maximum water levels, flows and related data for all relevant nodes, whereas ‘time series’ mode extracts hydrographs at selected nodes.

The Results Extractor tool generates formatted graphs as well as CSV format files. It also produces files to assist with documenting the audit trail, supporting model checking as well as other outputs that make it easier to load results from multiple simulations into a database, such as node labels, X/Y coordinates, maximum flow and freeboard.
