Description

In this webinar, learn about the non-flood and drought condition modelling work undertaken for the design of the Leeds Flood Alleviation Scheme, Phase 2 (LFAS2), a £112m flood scheme designed to mitigate flood risk for 1,048 homes and 474 businesses in Leeds.
As one of the UK’s most extensive current flood schemes, it integrates traditional engineering with catchment-scale Natural Flood Management techniques.
The webinar shows how by using Flood Modeller, the project team were able to enhance their understanding of the system and were able to make better-informed decisions, which balanced flood risk management with heritage and environmental needs
It focuses on how the hydraulic model was used to provide the evidence needed to guide the scheme’s design during non-flood and drought periods. It covers why this information was vital when considering environmental preservation, enhancement opportunities and heritage constraints within the scheme corridor.
