Description

26th November 2025 | 11PM AEDT

By 2050, England is predicted to need an extra 5,000 megalitres (Ml) of water every day to meet rising demand.  However, this demand is not evenly spread across the country.  The Grand Union Canal Transfer is one of several schemes designed to improve the resilience of the water supply by transferring recycled water from the Midlands to the South East.

Expanding on his award-winning presentation at this year’s Flood Modeller Conference, I-Hsien Porter, Hydraulic Modeller at JBA Consulting, will demonstrate how the team is using Flood Modeller. Traditionally used for assessing flood risk, the software is being used to support this nationally significant water resource project.

In this webinar, I-Hsien will explore how Flood Modeller has been utilised to model the transfer route, enabling rapid and cost-effective testing of design options. He will also highlight the innovations involved in applying the software to a new, non-flooding application, demonstrating its versatility in tackling future water challenges.

Don’t miss this opportunity to learn more about the Grand Union Canal Transfer scheme and discover innovative ways in which you can apply Flood Modeller, beyond flood scenarios.
