This one-day training course is aimed at those involved in the development and review of hydraulic models and focuses primarily on model diagnostics and debugging, advanced 1D structures and Flood Modeller automation tools.

The course is delivered using Flood Modeller's interface, allowing attendees to utilise a wide range of tools specifically designed to enable the building, running and analysis of flood models.

The course is presented from a practical point of view by expert modellers and delivered through a series of presentations, hands-on practicals and open discussion sessions.

Each training course can accommodate up to eight individuals which ensures the best possible learning experience is provided.

Learning objectives

By the end of the course, attendees should have an understanding of a number of initialisation and runtime errors that occur using Flood Modeller and how to fix these. Attendees should be able to use a number of model review tools available within Flood Modeller's interface to help identify problematic areas of their model and how these can be improved upon.

Attendees will gain experience in using Flood Modeller's automation tools and they will also be taught about our recent Damage Calculator addition. Alongside this the course will also provide a detailed insight into 1D structures including bridges and culverts.

Course prerequisites

The course assumes an understanding of 1D modelling and Flood Modeller's user interface.

Comprehensive course notes, practical exercises and additional support material is provided to everybody that attends the course.

Specialist training laptops and software are provided to each attendee allowing you to undertake the training effectively.

Lunch and refreshments are provided throughout the course.

The course starts at 09:30 and finishes at 17:00.
