Jacobs is a distributor for TUFLOW, providing technical support and training

This two-day bespoke training course is aimed at those involved in the development and review of hydraulic models and focuses primarily on 2D floodplain representation using TUFLOW.

The course is delivered using Flood Modeller's interface, allowing attendees to utilise a wide range of tools specifically designed to enable the building, running and analysis of flood models.

It is presented from a practical point of view by expert modellers and delivered through a series of presentations, hands-on practicals and open discussion sessions.

This training course is aimed at organisation's that are wishing to train multiple people at once. It can accommodate up to eight individuals which ensures the best possible learning experience is provided.

Attendee feedback

“Fantastic course with excellent teaching and exercises - I feel much more confident working with TUFLOW files now and building models”

“Great course, great tutor, really helpful and knowledgeable. Enjoyed having lots of practicals and given the time to build a model and work through errors. Leant loads that will help with my day job”

“The course was exactly what I needed”

Learning objectives

By the end of the course, attendees should have an understanding of 2D modelling and appreciate the different capabilities and applications of TUFLOW. Attendees should be able to build simple 2D models using TUFLOW within Flood Modeller's interface.

The course will provide an overview data requirements, model calibration and verification and other aspects relating to the model build process. Details on how to link the 1D solver within Flood Modeller with TUFLOW is also discussed.

Course prerequisites

The course assumes a basic understanding of 1D modelling and Flood Modeller's user interface.

Additional information

Comprehensive course notes, practical exercises and additional support material is provided to everybody that attends.

Specialist training laptops and software are provided to each attendee allowing you to undertake the training effectively.

This course is approved by the Chartered Institution of Water and Environmental Management and attendance will contribute toward your CPD.

The recommended start time is 09:30, with a finish time of 17:00 on both days.
