This two-day bespoke training course is aimed at those involved in the development and review of hydraulic models and focuses primarily on 2D floodplain representation using TUFLOW.

The course is delivered using Flood Modeller, allowing attendees to utilise a wide range of tools specifically designed to enable the building, running and analysis of flood models.

By the end of the course, attendees should have an understanding of 2D modelling and appreciate the different capabilities and applications of TUFLOW. Attendees should be able to build simple 2D models using TUFLOW.

The course will provide an overview data requirements, model calibration and verification and other aspects relating to the model build process. Details on how to link the 1D solver within Flood Modeller with TUFLOW is also discussed.

Typical course structure

The following modules will be delivered throughout the course.

  • An overview of the Flood Modeller interface
