We already provide a wide range of different resources to help you develop your skills. Plus, we've just launched a new range of online training courses which can be undertaken from the comfort of your own home!


Now is the perfect time to learn something new! Sign up to one of our CIWEM approved online training courses to learn first-hand how to use Jacobs' industry-leading flood modelling software.


Our online training courses are delivered by our expert training team virtually, using industry standard tools such as Microsoft Teams or GoToMeeting. Each course is designed for small groups to ensure the best possible learning experience and continuous interaction with the course leader. They are delivered using comprehensive presentations, extensive practicals exercises as well as additional self-learning material.


Our dedicated team of experts are on hand to give you the support and guidance you need. Each online course has been structured to enable shorter sessions to be delivered and encourage engagement. Up to 4 hours of training is delivered each day (plus break), with each course running over a 2-3 day period.

Introduction to 1D modelling (three-days)

Take part in our introductory course which is designed to develop your 1D modelling capabilities using Flood Modeller. You’ll be taught about the wide range of features and tools available in the software, allowing you to build and run your own model.


Introduction to 2D modelling (two-days)

Sign up for our introductory 2D modelling course which is designed to expand upon your existing 1D modelling skills using Flood Modeller. You’ll be shown how to use all three 2D solvers as well as being introduced to 1D-2D modelling.


Advanced Flood Modeller (two-days)

Enhance your modelling capabilities by registering for our advanced course which is designed for experienced users wishing to further their knowledge of Flood Modeller. The course is aimed at those involved in the development and review of hydraulic models and focuses on model diagnostics and debugging, advanced structures and automation tools.
