Congratulations to Kathyrn Fuller, Assistant Flood Modeller - Water Management and Resilience at Arcadis, who is this year's winner of the Flood Modeller Innovation & Success Awards for her project - Modelling of a Larinier fish pass scheme using Flood Modeller.

For the project, Arcadis was commissioned by the Environment Agency to undertake a flood modelling study in support of a fish pass scheme at Hamm Oil Mills on the Lower River Wey. The scheme intended to provide fish passage between the River Wey Navigation and the River Thames via Coleson’s Channel.

The study was carried out using an existing 1D-2D Flood Modeller-TUFLOW model of the River Wey to determine if there would be any detrimental impacts resulting from the scheme, ensuring the fish passes could be installed to increase the ecological potential of the river without increasing flood risk to the surrounding properties.

Kathryn will be joining us the the Flood Modeller Conference 2019 to present her project.
