This webinar was delivered on 5th December 2018 - the recording is available here

Taking place on 5th December at 13:00 GMT, Konrad Adams (Senior Developer for Flood Modeller at Jacobs) and Jon Lloyd (Senior Engineer at Arcadis) will demonstrate the recent improvements in mass balance reporting in Flood Modeller and present a case study where this information has helped to identify and diagnose mass balance errors in 1D and 1D/2D models. This 20 minute webinar (with time for questions after) will provide an overview of:

  • Mass balance calculations
  • Improvements to mass balance reporting
  • Reading mass balance outputs
  • Using mass balance outputs to identify errors
  • Resolving mass balance errors in a model

Dr. Konrad Adams has a PhD in mathematical methods. He has been at Jacobs for the last 20 years, where he has worked primarily as a software developer for both the Flood Modeller computational engine and the graphical user interface as well as providing specialist technical support. He is the lead software developer for the 1D and 2D solvers within Flood Modeller.

Jon Lloyd is a Senior Engineer at Arcadis working in the Water Management and Resilience Team. He has 6 years’ experience working in the fields of flood modelling and hydrology for a range of clients. Jon’s role at Arcadis includes providing technical leadership on hydraulic modelling projects, as well as providing a key role in the quality assurance of modelling outputs.
