Our software delivers a fully integrated flood modelling experience. With a legacy stretching back 40 years, it allows users to model rivers, floodplains and urban areas, using our powerful 1D and 2D solvers. Its user-friendly interface and wide range of productivity tools enable you to build and run models quickly and intuitively.

Version 4.2 provides exciting new features and various enhancements to existing functionality. Dr. Jon Wicks, Technical Director for Flood Modeller Suite, commented: “The latest release of Flood Modeller Pro provides significant improvements to the solvers. Dynamic links to SWMM and TUFLOW are now provided in both Flood Modeller Pro and Flood Modeller Free. When combining the latest automation tools with the new background mapping functionality, it provides a major productivity boost for 1D-2D modelling”.

Many updates to version 4.2 have been developed in response to user requests and include:

  • Easy access to fast online background mapping (Open Street Map and Bing) – you just need to ensure your model is georeferenced and set the mapping projection.
  • An enhanced breach unit which has been extended to include piping failure which can develop into an open breach and be controlled by a trigger water level.
  • HEC-RAS importer - river cross section data can be easily imported into Flood Modeller
  • Improved dynamic linking to the US EPA Storm Water Management Model (SWMM)
  • Significant improvements to both the 2D ADI and 2D FAST solvers
  • The new UK ReFH2 method has been implemented (requires access to the Centre for Ecology and Hydrology ReFH2 software).
  • Cross sections can be automatically ‘deactivated’ and plotted on the map view with curtailed section lines to make 1D-2D linking easier to set up – when combined with the new background mapping this provides a major productivity boost for 1D-2D!
