2D ADI solver
The ADI solver has been developed for fluvial, overland, estuarine and coastal modelling problems where the flow is not rapidly changing.
It is quick, accurate and robust, and is based on the long-established depth integrated velocities and solute transport (DIVAST) numerical engine which was first developed in the 1980s.
2D TVD solver
The TVD solver has been developed specifically to provide accurate representation of two-dimensional ‘shocks’ (rapid changes in water surface profile).
This solver allows complex hydraulics to be calculated more accurately and provides increased stability as TVD simulations are less prone to numerical oscillations than other solvers.
2D FAST solver
The FAST solver has been developed to enable rapid assessments of flooding. It provides results up to 1,000 times quicker than traditional 2D solvers.
Providing results in seconds or minutes, as opposed to hours or days, different types of flooding can be rapidly screened, considerably reducing the cost and time spent modelling.

Flood Modeller Pro provides 1,000 1D nodes and 400,000 2D cells as standard. If your model exceeds this functionality, you can upgrade your solvers to provide unlimited 1D nodes and/or 2D cells.
Allows any number of 2D domains with different cell sizes to be built into a model. This is extremely useful when a model incorporates urbanised and rural floodplains which require varying levels of detail.
1D sediment transport
Predict the sediment transport rates and patterns of erosion/deposition in river channels or to study sedimentation problems for both uniform and graded sediments.
1D water quality

Mapping All Sources
The Mapping All Sources Tool (MAST) allows users to quantify combined flood risk using flood maps from a number of sources or different probabilities of flooding. The outputs can also be used to inform whether more local modelling is required for areas of high risk or high uncertainty.
The layer converter improves modelling efficiency by allowing users to take advantage of different datasets. It converts existing GIS datasets (shapefiles or grids) into different formats, including grid shapefiles, outline shapefiles, Google Earth files or alternative grid types.
The TIN creator is designed to generate and edit interpolated triangular network surfaces, used to transform 1D hydraulic model results into 2D flood extents. It can triangulate any complex surface containing polygons, holes, polylines and points.
The damage calculator uses grid and property data to ascertain flood depths at each property location, and combines these data with the associated depth-damage curves to calculate the damages to properties in your study area.
UMap estimates the uncertainty of a flood outline location and allows the user to specify datasets to preload automatically. It transforms water levels into a horizontal uncertainty in the flood outline location, taking into account the water level uncertainty and the floodplain topography.
The 3D viewer is designed for simple visualisation and animation of flood mapping data in three dimensions, enabling you to superimpose a water surface on a loaded ground grid layer.
The 1D Model Result Extractor extracts model results across different return periods, storm durations and model runs. Checks are carried out to ensure that the results are valid which are then pre-formatted for report tables with additional data drawn from the model.
The health checker removes common modelling errors and assists in making models run faster, and with better convergence. It also incorporates some automatic and user assisted error fixing which allows the user to solve common modelling problems.
It enables the user to specify a maximum spacing between cross-sections and apply interpolate units, where necessary, to the model or selected reach(es). The is appropriate where for stability purposes, finer resolution of the watercourse is required and survey data not available.
Calibration file editor
This tool removes the manual process of having to create calibration text files from specified data. As well as prevention of mistakes, it improves the efficiency of the user, and allows modelled and observed quantities to be easily compared for calibration and verification purposes.
The conveyance plotter displays the calculated channel conveyance against stage for a river section unit, either on a cross-section plot or on its own. This provides the modeller with a quick reference to check that conveyance increases monotonically and smoothly with stage.
1D flood calculator
Flood Modeller Pro’s 1D flood calculator tool provides an easy method for quickly converting your 1D model outputs into a variety of standard GIS formats, enabling the impacts from your modelled data to be visualised and interpreted on a map.
